February 29, 2012 ~ Pop singer, actor Davy Jones, full name David Thomas Jones, passed away in Indian Town, Florida, USA ~ Rose to fame as a member of 1960s teen idol group the Monkees and its accompanying TV show of the same name. The band recorded over half a dozen albums through the 1970s, including the acclaimed Headquarters and Pisces Aquarius Capricorn & Jones Ltd. Jones sang lead on many of the band's best known including I Wanna Be Free and the Billboard Hot 100 No.1 hit Daydream Believer. However, Shore would go on to become the first female solo artist of her era to achieve major chart success scoring numerous hits from the early 1940s through the late 1950s.
